| Miss Chambers
is the only daughter of Mrs. William Lionel Chambers of 6111 Pershing
avenue and the late Mr. Chamber, who was a prominent lawyer, both here
and in Jefferson City, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Matthews and Mrs. Mary Jane Chambers.
She is a graduate of John Burroughs School and
Smith College in the class of 1935, where she majored in English. The
summer following her junior year at college she spent in European travel
and last summer was dramatic director of the Alford Lake Camps, near Rockland,
Me. While at Smith was a member of the Theater Workshop and took a major
part in the senior play. She is continuing her interest in dramatics in
spite of the social whirl and last week took a prominent part in “The
Man in Possession,” which was given by the Ellenwood Players.
Of medium height and slender build, her attractive
and enthusiastic manner wins the instant admiration of all her meet her.
