Dear Brother Earl:

         Well, it is official now that I will not go to visit Laos this summer. Because the Radio Station, I mentioned to you before, can not raise the money and because of the situation there now. Do you know why Lao kill Lao now than ever before? The people in Laos suppose to be a loving people and I repeat "a loving people". I hope that Laos in the future will play a foreign policy of neutrality, and restore the historic kingdom. But in the meantime ust hope the shooting would stop.

         My brother, Hit in Laos is fine. He still occupies the same kind of job. He earns eighty-five thousands kips a month! But wait, now one American dollar is equivalent 350 kips. That is not much at all, besides he has two child. However, I am glad that he is able to support his family.

         I decided not to take a job this summer. I thought it is wiser to go to summer school if I can. I asked the assistant of the Headmaster of Scarborough School about summer school. He said that he is happy to work with me in sciences. He is in fact the Sciences teacher of Scarborough.

         How is the situation here?
