Some letters were sent to MEDICO.
A teacher of mentally challenged junior high students sent a letter to
Dr. Peter Comanduras at MEDICO. She told him that she was able to use
the work of MEDICO to teach the students about American democracy. They
also carved soap sculptures of jungle huts, hospitals, and jeeps as an
activity to improve their motor coordination.

A high school girl wrote Dooley and
asked questions about him and his work because he was the subject of her
term paper. He answered her questions and told her of his third book,
which would be available in a few months.

A junior high class from Webster Groves,
Missouri, prepared a project on leaders of the time and Dooley was one
of the men featured. The teacher said the project helped shape the students'
lives, and Dooley responded by thanking the teacher and the students for
putting him with such great leaders.
