The Western History Association announces a prize of $500 for the Joan Paterson Kerr Book Award. This award is presented biennially for the best illustrated book on the history of the American West. $500 is awarded to the author/editor and a certificate goes to the press. Nominations should be sent directly to each member of the award committee (see below).

To be eligible for award in 2009, book must have been published in 2007 or 2008.
