ST. LOUIS' HUNGARIAN IMMIGRANTS

In 1956, there was an uprising in Hungary, but it was brutally crushed by the Communist government and the Soviet Union.Many of the Hungarian protesters and freedom fighters fled the country and came to the United States. In St. Louis, many of these refugees joined the St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Parish, which was given a permanent home in the St. Mary of Victories Catholic Church
