Early Alert Program

Early alerts are electronic notes initiated when a student experiences a success barrier in a course.  The goal of the Early Alert Program is to initiate prompt communication and effective intervention with students when they become at-risk of not achieving success in a course.  In most cases, academic alert is typically utilized for students in undergraduate study only.

Student Notification Templates

When an alert is raised on a student, a system-generated e-mail is sent to the student's UMSL e-mail address.  This e-mail will contain some automated language as well as specific indicators and comments provided by the instructor.  Depending on the type of indicator raised (flag or kudo), a different e-maill will be generated to the student.  Click on any of of the items below to view a sample message that would be sent to the student.
