Classroom Demonstrations

As a part of our Astronomy Outreach Program, we conduct approx. one hour classroom demonstrations for students. Demos include fun (and safety) with liquid nitrogen and dry ice, as well as making a model comet.

The Richard D. Schwartz Observatory hosts open house nights to the public throughout the year. Come take a look through the telescopes and talk with astronomy students and professors from the department.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Missouri- St. Louis is proud to operate the campus's planetarium. With funding from the NASA- Missouri Space Grant Consortium, we provide the Astronomy Outreach Program free of charge for elementary school students as well as participate in various community events.
