About the Planetarium

The planetarium is located in Room 407 of the Research Building on UMSL's North Campus.  It accomodates up to 36 people at a time and houses a Spitz A4 Star Projector, which projects 1,354 stars onto the 24-foot dome ceiling.  In addition to the stars, the projector also displays coordinate lines (meridian, ecliptic, zenith) and demonstrates the phases of the moon, the daily and annual motion of the Sun (Earth's rotation and orbit), and the seasons.
