Eamonn Wall www.eamonnwall.net is an active poet and scholar who has published four books of poetry and a long list of individual poems, articles, and essays. He teaches Irish literature, Irish American Literature, Creative Writing, and British Literature. About his teaching, he says, “The purpose of education is to provide students with the means and skills to live independent, moral, and happy lives.”
Dr. Wall serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Franco-Irish Studies and An Sionnach: A Journal of Irish Studies. He founded and coordinates UMSL’s Summer Program in Galway, Ireland. He serves as an officer in the American Conference of Irish Studies, supports arts events in Ireland, and works with the Irish-American community in St. Louis. He frequently reviews books by Irish and Irish-American authors for literary journals and major newspapers.
