Colleen McKee teaches for both the English Department and for the Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies. For English, she teaches the Beginning Poetry Writing Workshop, as well as First Year Composition, First Year Composition for International Students, Advanced Expository Writing for International Students, and Advanced Expository Writing. For IWGS, she has taught “Before Stonewall: Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Authors,” and “American Literature by Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Authors: The Activist Eighties and Nineties.” Her poetry has appeared in publications such as Poetry Daily, Bellevue Literary Review, and Flyway, and in several book-length collections of poetry. Currently Ms. McKee is co-editing a book of personal narratives entitled Are We Feeling Better Yet? Women’s Encounterswith Health Care in America.
