Deborah Aldrich-Watson has been on the faculty at UM-St. Louis since the early 1980s. She is the author of John Donne and Contemporary Literary Criticism, among other works. She has broad experience in teaching both composition and literature and currently teaches courses in the poetry and prose of Renaissance and Early Modern England. She was an Associate Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences 1989-1994 and Chair of the English Department 1999-2000. She states that humanities classes “can and should shape a world view that allows each of us to see the value of each person we come in contact with and each culture and opinion we encounter.
