Kate Dwiggins joined the English Department faculty in 2013 after previously teaching at the Pierre Laclede Honors College for several years. She has also taught for a number of other St. Louis area institutions, including Lindenwood University, McKendree University, Lewis and Clark Community College and St. Louis Community College.  Kate teaches a variety of general education and creative writing courses, including First Year Composition, Advanced Expository Writing, Business Writing, and poetry/fiction workshops. She is the current faculty adviser for the student-run literary magazine, Litmag, and also teaches courses on editing and publishing. Her other interests of study include comedy as rhetoric, gender studies and sexuality, nonfiction writing and women's memoir, urban studies, composition theory and teaching with technology. An accomplished poet, Kate's poems have appeared in a wide range of literary journals, including the Crab Orchard Review, Atlantic Pacific Press, Apalachee Review, China Grove, Blue Collar Review and Barely South Review.
