Section Members to Vote on Proposed Bylaw Amendments

Amendments to the St Louis Section bylaws have been proposed in accord with current bylaw procedures. The proposed amendments will

• bring Section bylaws into agreement with SOCIETY documents and the Section’s Articles of Incorporation;
• enable, but not require, the use of electronic balloting in elections;
• provide a more practical date for reporting of the Audit Committee to the Board of Directors; and
• enhance clarity.

The amendments have undergone a preliminary review by the ACS Committee on Constitution and Bylaws, and have been approved by the St Louis Section Board of Directors.

Section members will vote on the amendments as a block at the Continuity Dinner/General Meeting of the Section on December 11. Watch for the October issue of the Chemical Bond and the event calendar on the home page of this website for details on time, place, and reservations. Adoption of the proposed amendments requires an affirmative vote by two-thirds of the members present and voting.
