The Peer Mentor Program
The purpose of the Peer Mentor Program of the Office of Transfer Services and Center for Student Success is to assist other students before, during, and after their transition from a previous institution to the University of Missouri- St. Louis. Peer Mentors work with anyone needing assistance in navigating the transfer process to make it as smooth as possible and then further help to get new students connected to the UMSL community and on the road toward graduation.
Our Peer Mentors are student leaders active in student life and activities and student governance here at the University. In these roles they are regularly asked to advocate on behalf of transfer students and non-traditional students. They themselves each transferred to UMSL from area community colleges and private universities and therefore bring a first-hand prospective to their positions. Some are also working professional with several years of experience.
UMSL's Peer Mentor team consists of two Senior Peer Mentors who work closely with a team of volunteers made up of transfer honor students and student leaders to meet the needs of the ever-growing transfer student population here at the University. You can reach a Peer Mentor by calling (314) 516-4726, by e-mail at askamentor@umsl.edu, or on facebook:
