Transfer Checklist: Prior to Admission
Visit with a Transfer Coordinator - If you are transferring to UMSL from an area community college and require transfer advising, you may want to consult a Transfer Coordinator online . Call (314) 516-5162 for more information to locate a Transfer Coordinator.
Take a Campus Tour – To schedule a campus tour, contact the Welcome Center at (314) 516-5460 or schedule a tour online. Tours designed for transfer students are given on Fridays at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Complete an Undergraduate Admission Application (online or paper). To complete online, go to http://www.umsl.edu/admission/apply. Please contact the Admissions Office for a paper application or questions at (314) 516-5451.
Submit a $35 Non-Refundable Application Fee ($40 for International Students) with your Admission Application. You may pay online or by mail with a check or money order.
Request Official College Transcripts. An official transcript from each school where you have completed credit hours is required for admission to the university. (Request that transcripts be sent to: Director of Admission, University of Missouri-St. Louis, One University Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63121-4400)
NOTE: Please allow approximately 7-10 days for your application to be processed once all application information has been received. Once admitted, you will receive an admit letter by mail from theOffice of Admissions describing the details of your admission status and what actions are required in order for you to proceed.
Apply for Financial Aid – Complete the (FAFSA) Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You can complete the application online. You may also obtain an application by contacting the Financial Aid Office at (314) 516-5526. Our School Code is 002519.
Apply for Scholarships – Please visit the Office of Transfer Services website for available transfer student scholarships. Also, please complete your FAFSA form and contact your academic department on the UMSL campus for additional scholarships.
Apply for Campus Housing – UMSL offers a variety of housing options for transfer students. If you plan to stay on campus, please feel free to contact the Office of Residential Life and Housing at (314) 516-6877
