Transfer Checklist: After Admission

Contact your Academic Advisor to Register for Classes – Registration normally begins in November for new Winter/Spring Semester students and in April for new Summer and Fall Semester students. Please call and schedule an appointment early with your academic advisor so you can get the classes you need!

Pay your Fees – All fees are due and payable to the Cashier’s Office, RM 285 Millennium Student Center, (314) 516-5151. This is also where you purchase a parking permit and receive your Metrolink and Bi-State bus pass.

Get your UMSL Student ID –You will need your campus ID card to participate in most student and athletic events as well as to use computer labs and the fitness center. Get your ID at the Center for Student Success in RM 225 Millennium Student Center, (314) 516-5300. Please bring a picture ID and your class schedule with you when getting your Student ID.

Purchase your Books – Books can be purchased in person or online in the University Bookstore in RM 209 Millennium Student Center, (314) 516-5763. Books are usually available 2 weeks before the semester begins.

Attend New Student Orientation – Orientation is usually held a few weeks before the beginning of each new semester. Contact the Office of Student Life for details in RM 366 Millennium Student Center, (314) 516-5291.

Visit the Office of Transfer Services – This office is specifically designed to assist transfer students with a broad range of support services and resources they may need as they enter and continue their coursework at UMSL. This department is located in RM 225 Millennium Student Center, (314) 516-5162.
