APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Application Procedures
Congratulation on making a smart investment for your future. Here is what you need to do to study in UMSL.
- Chose a program that you want to study. There are about 44 Graduate Degree Programs. A full list of the programs are available here. However, if you are not ready to attend a graduate degree program, Center for International Studies offers Summer ESL Program and Pre-MBA/GMAT Program.
- Get application form. You can e-mail to iss@umsl.edu to request for the application form. Please state your full name, address, e-mail, and intended degree. You can also download the Graduate Application here.
- Required test. Check the program which you are applying to find out what test is required for your particular degree. Official GRE or GMAT scores may be necessary.

Required documents. Here are what you need to send to UMSL for consideration into the program.
- Application form: signed and dated.
- Application fee: non-refundable application fee of US$40 for international student. Please make draft or money order payable to "University of Missouri-St. Louis." If you would like to pay by credit card, please submit the Application Fee Payment form.
- Educational transcripts: Please ask your schools to send original transcripts directly to our office in a sealed official school envelope. Credentials must be translated into English.
- TOEFL: Please submit official TOEFL scores. the minimum score for admission is 500 (173 computer based).
- Bank Statement: You or your sponsor must fill out the Financial Support Form and send an original bank statement which states the exact amount in U.S. dollars or a letter from the bank certifying that you have the necessary amount in an account. This bank document must be on official bank letterhead and sent to our office in a sealed envelope.

Send in all the documents for (3) and (4). You can either mail or fax in to ISS at:

Fax: 314-516-5636 - ISS will verify all the documents and forward them to the School/College responsible.
- The School/College will make the decision whether or not to grant the admission.
