Partnership's
Vision
St. Louis area
urban schools are staffed completely with fully qualified teachers
who are prepared for urban settings.
Partnership's Mission
The mission of the St. Louis Regional Partnership, a
model collaborative, is to address the need of fully qualified teachers
prepared for urban settings through programs and advocacy so that
students will succeed.
Partnership's Goals for 2002-2004
- Goal 1: Urban schools have a sufficient pipeline of soon-to-be
certified teachers.
- Goal 2: Teacher retention is increased, especially among
those in first 3 years of teaching service.
- Goal 3: Partnership has plan for its financial stability
and structural needs beyond 2004.
The St. Louis Regional Partnership is a group of higher education
institutions, urban school districts and education organizations
that partnered to address the need for more teachers, who would
have the tools to become successful teachers in urban schools.
The Leadership Team of the Partnership,
when launched, included the following institutions, with the University
of Missouri-St. Louis serving as fiscal agent:

St. Louis Regional Professional Development School Collaborative
An Advisory Council, comprised of leaders
from each of the above institutions and several other educational
entities, including education employees´ unions, provides helpful
information and direction.
The Partnership is currently reviewing its future opportunities,
assessing its strengths and shortcomings, and setting a vision and
path of action for addressing community needs.
