The University operates a "free" emergency motorist assist vehicle as a service to motorists on campus. Drivers are prepared to assist in unlocking car doors when keys are locked inside, jump-starting dead batteries, changing flat tires and securing outside towing services at the owners expense if major repair is needed. Over 60 Emergency Blue Light phones have been installed across the campus grounds. These phones provide a direct line to the campus police. If you should have an emergency on campus grounds, parking lot or parking garage, simply push the button. Blue lights will begin to flash and you will be connected to Police and Transportation. The free standing Blue Light phones phones may be utilized to report such problems as theft, injury, or car trouble and are located at various sites on campus and near most major parking areas.
In case of emergency inside a building use the nearest red phone and press 5155 which goes directly to the police.
If you do not feel comfortable walking to a parking lot, bus stop or anywhere else on campus, contact the Police Department at (314)516-5155 for an escort. This service is provided for students, faculty and staff.
