STAT Takes Highest Honor at UMSL Student Life Award Banquet

The student alumni chapter, STAT, received the Best Student
Organization of the Year award at the annual Leadership Award Banquet held by the UMSL Office of Student Life on April 25, 2005.  Tailgating, the Alum-Net mentoring program, and the astounding growth in membership over the
Past year we cited as a few of the many merits that deemed this organization worthy of such an honor.  Before presenting the award, Jonathon Lidgus, graduate assistant to the Office of Student Life, hailed STAT as "a force to be reckoned with."

In addition, STAT won the Best Campus Community Building Program award for the second consecutive year for its tailgating efforts.  The Office of Student Life noted the significant increase in student attendance and awareness of athletic events on campus as noteworthy accomplishments of the tailgating program to date.

Incoming STAT Director of Alumni Networking and Mentoring Scott Bopp received the highest individual honor, Most Outstanding Student Leader of the Year.  Bopp served as President of the Student Government Association this year and will be proceeded by STAT's own D'Andre Braddix in that position.

Congratulations are in order to all STAT members.  Many thanks for positively representing alumni, students, and the campus community at UMSL and for bringing greater awareness of the Alumni Association to the UMSL student body.
