Student Suppor Services

Student Support Services

Student Support Services will not be re-funded for fiscal year 2010.
Thanks to all and good bye.

As of August 31, 2010 the University of Missouri – St. Louis will no longer have a Student Support Services grant program. This means that the individualized services that you received through the SSS office will no longer be available to you. It is important to remember the distinction between SSS and Disability Access Services (DAS) and to know that DAS is still available and eager to provide to you support and accommodation services.

Services that will no longer be available because they were provided through federal dollars include such things as free tutoring, personal counseling, the private computer lab, and the laptop loan program. This news is difficult for all of us and we apologize for the late notice of these changes. Please make sure that you stay in close contact with DAS in order to arrange your necessary classroom accommodations, such as: note-takers, extended time on exams, distraction free testing, alternate text, etc. We know that they are here to support you and help you through this transition.

It has been an honor and privilege to work with each one of you and wish you nothing but continued success both educationally as well as in all aspects of your life. If you have the opportunity to stop by and visit us before the end of August, please do so. We would welcome the chance to say good-bye in person.
