Instructions for manipulating the
visualization
- In
the visualization, the edges represent organizations and the edges
represent the activities in which the given pair of organizations
collaborate.
- Move
the slider (top-right corner) to change the number of degrees of relations displayed. The distance
indicates the number of "hops" of the nodes from the central node that
would be displayed. The default is set to 1.
- Left-click on an empty portion of the visualization and
drag to move the whole graph.
- Hover the mouse cursor over a node to view the details of
the information in the right-hand panel.
- When
the details of a node are being displayed, click on the button labeled
"Click here to open website" to view the organization's website in a
new window.
- Hover the mouse cursor over an edge to view the details of
the relationship between two nodes.
- Use the scroll-wheel of your mouse to increase/decrease the
size of the graph displayed.
- The
above effect can be achieved by holding the right mouse of your button
down on an empty portion of the visualization and dragging the mouse:
upwards to decrease the size of the visualization, downwards to
increase the size of the visualization.
- Double-click using the right-mouse-key to center and resize
the graph.
- Hovering the mouse over a node "highlights" the immediate
neighbours of a node.
- To
selectively highlight organizations of a particular type, check the
appropriate box. For example, to highlight all professional
organizations, check the box labelled "professional" by left-clicking
on it.
- The entire right side of the visualization (the slider,
checkboxes, the details panel and the button) can be hidden by either
dragging the separator all the way to the left or by clicking on the
">" symbol that appears at the top of the separator. Clicking on
the
"<" symbol has the opposite effect (the left portion would be
either
partially or completely hidden).
