Hello, welcome to my site!
Let's get started exploring my world. Some facts about me: I have
two beautiful children Christopher and Christian. I'm a huge fan of Maya Angelou and I thank her for inspiring me through her words of wisdom and inspirational works. Dr. Angelou exemplifies passion, strength and determination; truly a remarkable renaissance woman who has touched the lives of many she's never even met. I'm a life long learner, in fact I've completed my M.B.A. and M.A. in HR Management and I have a Certificate in Paralegal Studies. Currently, I am working on my Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration.
For the past fourteen years I've worked in the Information Technology
Services (ITS) department at the University of Missouri - St. Louis. I manage one of the units in ITS called the Faculty
Resource Center. I have the pleasure of supporting faculty, staff and students as they use technology to enhance their teaching and learning objectives. Technology continues to change the way we work, learn and even communicate. My passion is helping faculty, staff and students find the resources that will engage and create "community" in the classroom. In the process I get to learn from a diverse group of people, think outside the box and have fun!
I can sum up the achievements in my life by citing a quote from the great renaissance woman:
"You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it."
-Maya Angelou
And finally I've realized throughout my journey in life that:
"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."
-Barack Obama
