International Peer Mentoring Program
You are invited to participate in the new SisterScholars-in-Training International Peer Mentoring Program which began in the Spring of 2015. This international peer-mentoring program is designed to connect female students enrolled at the University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) with female students enrolled at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in CapeTown, South Africa. Participating students are required to communicate with their international peer mentor via email, Skype, FaceTime, or through other forms of social media at least 3-4 times a month. The goals of the SisterScholars peer-mentoring program are to:
- Expand student’s international understanding and awareness of the lives of other college women globally;
- Provide an avenue for female students to share their personal and academic stories with each other across international campuses; and
- Provide a vehicle for students to share their strategies toward personal development and degree attainment.
If you have any questions and are interested in participating, contact Dr. Angela Coker, Associate Professor of Counseling and Family Therapy (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Jennifer Culver, Graduate Assistant email@example.com for an application and more details. We look forward to hearing from you!
