Junior Science, Engineering and Humanities Symposium
Administrative Procedure
- Group Applications are submitted by December 1.
- In late December letters are mailed informing schools regarding who is funded by the grant.
- Individual applications for both students (student applications must have parental signature), teachers, and adults are due January 20. Anyone planning to attend the symposium must submit an individual application.
- Two copies of research papers are to be received by February 10. All students indicating they would submit a paper on the group application should mail their paper to the symposium office.
- Papers are sorted into categories (chemistry, environmental science, etc.) and given to a panel of judges to determine whether student is selected to present.
- In early March students are informed whether they are presenting for competition on Friday morning.
- If student is not selected for presenting for competition, he/she might be invited to present their paper informally at the hotel on Thursday night.
- Top 36 presenters and their teachers will have a meeting on Thursday night at the hotel to discuss the next morning’s presentation procedure.
