Project Management / Ability to Coordinate Team
Projects -- Rating: 8 |
| I have a strong work ethic and value integrity in myself and my
teammates. I am always willing to do what's best for the team, and I
thrive on going the extra mile. I stay in frequent contact with team
members and regularly review the team's progress. As a business analyst, I
coordinated the writing and organization of my department's work methods,
which were developed into the department's first procedures manual.
However, I tend to be a perfectionist and often focus excessively on minor
details. I occasionally take on more responsibilities than I can feasibly
handle, so it's very important for me to delegate tasks. |

Creativity -- Rating: 7 |
| I have learned that there can be multiple solutions to a single
problem. I love to challenge conventional thinking by thinking outside the
box, but I do recognize conventional thinking as a typical approach to
solving problems. My department at US Bank was responsible for sending
system alerts to specific groups of employees. The response time was
generally slow since an alert had to be created from scratch for each
scenario. To speed delivery time, I created templates for every
foreseeable scenario, which enabled the department to alert the affected
users more efficiently and expeditiously. |

Communication Skills -- Rating:
6 |
| I express myself very effectively via the written word, having honed
my writing and editing skills through self-study and continuing education.
I am aware of the significance of body language in personal interactions
and how people's actions speak louder than words. I was a member of
Toastmasters for nearly two years and learned how to develop and give
several varieties of speeches. Although I have made much progress in my
verbal skills, I still find it challenging to communicate ideas and
instructions verbally, which sometimes results in excessive speech and
ambiguity. |

Analytical Skills -- Rating:

| I thoroughly enjoy diagnosing problems and figuring out how things
work. At US Bank, I worked on a help desk that averaged 3300 calls per
month. My department had to diagnose and troubleshoot every issue, and
then direct each caller to a timely resolution. At Philliber Research
Associates, I analyzed Excel and SPSS databases to ensure the data's
accuracy and determine its relevance to project needs. I continue to
develop my ability to articulate technical issues in terms the layperson
can understand. |
