Hello! Welcome to my webpage. I’m Becky Hare, and I teach English I, English III, and English IV – Creative Writing at Oakville High School. OHS is one of two high schools in the Mehlville School District, located in South County, a suburb of St. Louis, MO. This is my second year teaching at OHS but my sixth year teaching.

About Me

I am married to my wonderful husband, John and the mother of two beautiful, rambunctious children—Caroline, age 2, and JT, age 9 months . When I’m not playing with my children, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, grading, lesson planning for school, I enjoy reading, camping, traveling, and Cardinal baseball. I am currently in classes toward achieving my MA (Master of Arts) in English at UMSL.

Educational Philosophy

I believe that education is the basic right of every individual, and that if an individual chooses to utilize his or her education to its fullest potential, the opportunities are endless. Through education, a person can overcome any obstacle, shatter any fear, and control interactions with the ever-changing world.
