Observation Clinics

In preparation for a career in veterinary medicine, most veterinary colleges require that a pre-vet student has completed a certain minimum number of hours of observing, or "shadowing", actual veterinarians in their practice, usually in each of four areas of veterinary medicine: small animal (dogs, cats, pocket pets), equine, food animal (bovine, swine, chicken, etc.), and exotic (avians are commonly excepted for this class of medicine). The following is a listing of veterinary practices in Missouri that will consider pre-vet med observers. This is by no means a complete list, and we encourage you to inquire of your local veterinary for observation opportunities.
