John Brunero (Ph.D., Columbia May 2006) has interests
in moral, political and legal philosophy and works on issues concerning practical reason and
practical rationality. In particular, he is interested in understanding the structure and
normativity of instrumental rationality, and the relationship between reasons and motivation.
Brunero joined the department August 2006. He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy at
Columbia University, where he taught Contemporary Civilization for three years in the Core Curriculum.
