Each of the following short sentences can be translated by some variant of opus est. Using the textbook order (opus est, dative of person, ablative of thing needed), translate into Latin:

Example:
The Romans needed justice. Answer: opus erat Romanis iure or opus fuit Romanis iure.

2. Soldiers need weapons (arms).
3. The legatus needed tribunes.
4. He (ille) needs a javelin.
5. An army needs discipline.
6. A camp needs military fortifications (opera).
