Muns has worked at the
Thomas Jefferson Library of the
University of Missouri-St. Louis since 1991. After obtaining a BA in
Psychology (cum laude) from UCLA in
1982, Muns worked as a systems analyst for one year with
STSC, Inc. In 1983 Muns enlisted in the United States Navy receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1987.
For the next 2 years R. Muns traveled in the United States and Europe,
including a 6 month stint in Florence, Italy studying Italian
language, history, and music. Upon returning to the United States, Muns
embarked on a 2 year Master of Library Science degree via UCLA's
Graduate School of Library and Information Science
