REVIEW -
.................................

The low level of activity for this list is not a negative indicator
of its value. In order to get a broader view of list activity, I
searched the 1991 calendar year archives within which 50 messages
were posted. Slow, steady, and concise are adjectives to be applied
to list postings. There is minimal information noise coupled with
a high response rate to questions in the field of number theory.
The body of postings consisted of queries and their subsequent
responses, as well as a rare request for papers or a conference
notification (3 of the 50 messages). One message notified
subscribers of a downloadable software package, version 1.35 of the
"Pari package for number theory." Sample topics during the review
period were: Carmichael numbers, the rational parameterization of
Diophantine equations, and a request for citation on a simple proof
of the infinitude of primes (Euler got the credit).

SUGGESTED USES FOR LIST -
.................................

        1) Problem solving tool in field of number theory.

        2) International contact list for mathematicians.

        3) Subject awareness tool for mathematically minded
               academics.
