REVIEW -
.................................

HIT stands for Highly Imaginative Technology and Science Fiction. This
ListSERV group is very casual and relaxed and is more for recreation than
anything else.

The subscribers carry on here in a casual manner, writing short messages
discussing space vehicles, flying cars, and alien creatures. The message
density is low with only a few messages coming in on any given day.

A majority of the messages during the week of review revolved around one
man's posting of a puzzle. The "Alien Critter" puzzle, posted by George
Schaade, was about an alien who visits Earth, proclaiming that there is
one creature which is not from Earth but was transplanted from an
alien planet. The question: "What is this creature?" This puzzle attracted
a lot of proposed answers with justifications. There was even a message
posted by a history teacher who had conducted a day of class on the puzzle.

Given the subject matter, some of the messages dealing with technology can
be a bit tricky to understand. These messages, however, are very few.

NGO Computing" at the University of California, Irvine. Frederick's
