STAFF BIOGRAPHIES

James P. McHugh
Co- Director, LEMA

James P. McHugh has twenty years of experience in government, focused mainly on economic and workforce development, and served as the legislative liaison for the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.  He has also served as a member of a Welfare-to-Work task force for the Missouri Department of Social Services, and the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association's Public Policy Committee.  He has managed trade relations for the St. Louis Technology Center (now the Center for Emerging Technologies) and was director of the St. Louis Regional Office of Missouri Lt. Governor and also worked for Mayor of the City of St. Louis.

Jim directs the day-today operations of the program and is responsible for developing LEMA a short and long-term goals and objectives. He overseas the operational, financial and [personnel activities of LEMA. Jim ensures that LEMA keeps a working knowledge of Missouri business practices and labor conditions in order to understand the dynamics of current economic climates; including monitoring legislative and agency action to detect matters that could affect labor market activity.

 

Gregory P. Aubuchon, J.D.

Greg P. Aubuchon is a lifelong resident of the St. Louis metropolitan region. Greg graduated summa cum laude in 1993 with a BS degree in Economics from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he attained the status of University Scholar and was awarded the Economics Department Merit Award and the St. Louis Claims Association Award and Scholarship. Afterwards, Greg graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1996 with a JD degree in Law. Mr Aubuchon has practiced law in both Tennesse and Missouri. Presently, he is licensed to practice law by the Missouri Bar.

Mr. Aubuchon's legal experience covers various areas of employment related law, including, but not limited to, workers' compensation, employment discrimination, employment contracts, regulatory compliance, products liability, and commercial transactions. As the Assistant Director, Greg manages certain day to day activities of LEMA and advises LEMA's econometric team with respect to the incorporation of economic and legal policy variables into the econometric models of the St. Louis regional labor market.
