Acronyms

Home Up The End

Acronyms are used most appropriately in informal discussions, in chat rooms (where speed is of the essence), and in MUDs.  Avoid them in formal communications--especially work-related.  One of the biggest problems with acronyms (like emoticons) is that except for some of the most common, your readers may be left clueless.
