Hey -
I'm 46 y/o this year. I have one daughter who is 25 y/o named Kate and I have a dog.
My dog came from Hell I'm quite sure. I got her from my daughter who originally
owned the dog. My dog is named Zelda after the video game. Kate brought the
creature to me and asked me to train her. After a while I said I was keeping Zelda,
and my daughter did not mind at all. Zelda and I both need obedience school haha.
Seriously if my dog had anyone else for an owner they would have sent her to the pound.
She is sooooo bad! But I'm pretty tolerant about dogs and their behavior so she has a home
for life with me. And she is so pretty. She is solid black and her coat is very shiny and
healthy looking. I wish she was a little more cuddly. She's rather gnaw on my hand than
get a pet from me.
In another lifetime I was a computer programmer. I worked on the DEC/VAX platform for
a few years. I programmed in various languages over the years. I left my career because it
was sucking the life out of my soul. Now I am a Social Work major and a Sociology minor.
I want to work with homeless and mentally ill clients. I hope that I can actually facilitate some
people to get some of what they need.
I have a few hobbies. I like needle crafts like counted cross stitch and crochet. I am re-learning how
to knit. I have two afghans I am working on. I love to read, but I am very picky about the books I read.
I like coffee way too much - caffeine is my favorite drug after nicotine. I work out at the fitness center
here at school. Our gym is not very good considering how large the school is, but it's FREE. I like
hanging out with friends. Two of my friends like to smoke as much as I do. We're a bad influence on
each other - whenever we get together we smoke like chimneys.
I love to learn. I'm enjoying my experience at UMSL very much. I have an Associates Degree in Information
Systems from Forest Park Community College. I transferred to UMSL last Fall. I was pleasantly surprised at
how much I enjoy it here. I like to take tests but I hate to write papers. I would rather take comprehensive finals
than write papers.
