Critical Thinking
Project Guidelines
Grading rubric (wiki
help)
- Create Personal Wiki Page: Due Sunday, June 24 by 11:59 PM
(15 points)
- To create this page, open the class wiki (You
can access the class wiki by clicking the link: "Drugs and Society Wiki," via a link on our class MyGateway site's course navbigation menu, or within the "Critical Thinking Project" content area), then select: "Add New Page" from the right-hand column in the wiki. Remember to name your wiki page: "your last name, your first name-personal wiki page." After you have created your personal wiki page click save and exit, return to the wiki home page and make your name a link to you personal page
- What to include on your personal page:
- Provide a bit of information about yourself and
other interests you might have. Include in this presentation the drug you will be focusing upon for the critical thinking project. We expect a minimum of 125 words.
- Experiment with the different features
of the wiki--add a minimum of external links to web pages you find interesting or relevant to the class and provide a brief description of the sites.
- Add some internal links (links to exisiting pages in the wiki). Llink back to the "home
page" and other students' pages.
- Add a few images--especially an picture of yourself.
- Update this
page throughout the semester--adding links to your work on parts 1, 2, and 3. This is where the grader goes to access your work on the
assignment. Credit will not be given for individual work if it is not
linked on the personal wiki page.
- For help creating a personal wiki page, see Prof. Keel's Panopto tutorial, "Working in a Wiki" in the Wiki Help folder in the Critical Thinking Project area of the class MyGateway
site.
- Leave comments on other students' pages to provide help and assistance and
point out minor edits that need to be done, etc.
- Be sure
to complete the "E-mail Feedback Consent." You can find the e-mail
feedback consent "test" in the Critical Thinking Project area of the class MyGateway
site.
- Until you give consent, you will have to visit Prof. Keel or a TA to receive
full feedback on the group project.
Be sure to correctly cite all information used from research
resources (in-text citations and a list of references for each page) using the ASA manuscript submission guide (local copy with web citation guidelines or a full version of the ASA Style Guide). Additional assistance with referencing online resources
can be found here.
Also, remember we are undertaking an academic activity, so please refrain from
using opinion, unreliable or invalid resources, sensationalism,
and other non-academic practices. See academic integrity statement and Turnitin information.
