Hickman, C.J. Using the press to maximize Elderhostel exposure. Training manual used internationally by Elderhostel, Inc. This manual is used by State Directors and Campus Coordinators as a "how to" document in dealing with the press to either advertise Elderhostel activities, or handle a news crisis. From the Missouri Department of Health to develop and conduct the course series, "Certificate Program for Center Directors," during the summer and fall, 1999. Grant amount: $20,000, renewable.

From the civic organization Success by Six (United Way of Greater St. Louis) to develop a Center Director strand of the Crucial Early Years Conference, fall, 1999. Grant amount: $5,000.

From the Missouri Department of Health to conduct the course series, "Child Care Provider Training" in Jefferson County, Missouri, during the spring and summer, 1998. Grant amount: $10,867.50.

From Urban Extension of the University of Missouri to conduct the course, "Identification of Child Sexual Abuse" in May 1998. Grant Amount: $4,300 (in cooperation with University of Missouri Extension and the Kathryn J. Weinman Child Advocacy Center).

From the Missouri Department of Health to conduct the course series, "Child Care Provider Training in Jefferson County," during the spring of 1997. Grant amount: $22,969.

From the Missouri Department of Health to conduct the course series, "Child Care Provider Training in St. Charles County," from March through October 1996. Grant amount: $8,652.

From Urban Extension of the University of Missouri to conduct the course series, "Child Care Provider Training in Jefferson County," from May through June, 1996. Grant amount: $1,570.50 (in cooperation with University Extension).

From Urban Extension of the University of Missouri to conduct the course series, "Professional Development for Child Care Providers," from March through November, 1995. Grant amount: $3,202 (in cooperation with University of Missouri Extension).

From the U.S. Department of Education to initiate the PRIMER Project, an academic emphasis area on violence prevention in elementary and early childhood education, from July 1994 through July 1995. Grant amount: $1,000,000 (assisted in grant preparation and directed grant activities to the extent the activity fell under the auspices of Continuing Education & Outreach. Grant was submitted and awarded in cooperation with Harris-Stowe, the St. Louis Community Colleges, and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville).

Co-presenter of the Colloquia on Statistical Methods in Educational Research, with Drs. Simon Kim and Steve Spaner, March-April, 1995 for UM-St. Louis faculty and doctoral and graduate students. Topics included: Correlation and Simple Regression, t-Tests, ANOVA, and Multiple Regression.
