CBC Library Databases:

The following databases were ordered this year and are available online using the URL
address which is given. You will need to know the CBC user name and password.

 

1. Grolier Online. http://go.grolier.com.

Provides access to three databases. The Encyclopedia Americana, a standard in school, academic, and public libraries, is online with links to Web sites and periodicals. The Encyclopedia of American Studies reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the field of American Studies, incorporating American history, literature, and other disciplines in a cultural
study of the American experience.The Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia features 40,000 quick-reference articles along with Web links, an atlas and many images.

 

2. Facts.com. http://www.2facts.com.

This database brings together complete content from the Facts on File News Digest since 1940 and selected databases from other reference databases to answer questions about events, issues, statistics, and people of the last 60 years.

 

3. ABC-CLIO American History. http://www.americanhistory.abc-clio.com.

This online resource is a multimedia resource that covers all aspects of American
History from early exploration to the latest events.

 

4. Grove Art Online. http://www.groveart.com.

This database provides Web access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art (1996, 34 vols.) with annual additions of new material and updates to the text, plus extensive image links
user name and password to get access to this and Grove Music Online at CBC.

 

5. Magill's Literary Online Package. http://search.epnet.com.

This database has two components: Novelist and MagillOnLiterature. Novelist reviews over
120,000 fiction titles. MagillOnLiterature contains author biographies, critical analyses, brief plot summaries, and character profiles.
