ENGLISH 4260  FALL 2016                           HOW TO ADD A WIKI ENTRY

1. Write your entry and save the file.  Your definition (or “gloss”!) should be between 75-150 words, and it should not only define your term but indicate its relevance to Chaucer’s poetry or his milieu, ideally by linking it to a specific text or texts.

2. Go to the course MyGateway page and click on the “docs and assignments” tab.  Under “Chaucer Glossary Wiki” hit the “view” button.

3. Click “New Page” on the upper left side of the screen. When the window opens, type your term in the “new page” blank at the top and then paste your entry into the document window.  Hit “Save” at  the lower right.

5. On the “Glossary Terms” page, hit “edit” on the upper right side.  Highlight  your term and click the “Insert/Edit Link” button the menu bar (it looks like a little link of chain). When the popup window opens, click on the “Wiki Page” button and then on your term, which should appear on the list of pages.

7. Hit “Submit” and the window will close.  Hit “Save” on the lower right, and you’re done!  You can check your success by clicking on the newly linked term on the Glossary page.
