Athletics

Health information on student athletes is on file in Athletics, including:

 

-       Annual physical exam forms

-       Pre-existing condition exam

-       Treatment/Rehab session notes

-       Drug testing results

 

Serious injuries are referred out to providers in the community, and this treatment is paid for by athletes’ personal health insurance or by system-wide athletics insurance coverage. 

 

Athletics bills insurance for physician, therapy, and trainer services; forwards payments for physician and therapy to those providers (not employees of UMSL) and retains trainer revenues.

 

Athlete health files maintained in locked file cabinets in Sports Medicine Area.
