25 Aug 2011. This page is currently out of date. I hope to get back to it in mid-2012.

UPDATE: I am designing and teaching a Conservation Biology course this semester. Much of my materials are coming from the Network of Conservation Educators and Practitioners, at the AMNH. Other lessons I will develop myself. The syllabus will be uploaded soon with links to sources for the exercises. Most of these materials are available to the public and I invite others to use all or part of my syllabus. Please let me know if you do so.

This page is under construction. It will become a source of interactive environmental education lessons for educators. I hope to have a range of lessons for a range of ages. At the moment there are only four lessons, all of which were designed by myself. If you have others to contribute, please contact me, eliot_miller AT yahoo.com . The first two lessons, "taxonomy" and "protists" are powerpoints aimed at explaining these topics to approximately 4th-6th grade students. Instructions are not yet complete for either of these lessons. The next two lessons are large group exercises (~15-60 students), and will generate unique results when taught. If you use these exercises, please write me to let me know how they worked, what your results were, and how the exercise can be improved. I hope to ultimately make this page itself interactive, with the ability to upload lessons and get feedback from other educators.
