Professor Speicher joined the faculty at UMSL in 2003 and is currently a full time lecturer. He has studied extensively at Washington University in St. Louis in the fields of Urban Economics, Public Finance, and applied Microeconomics. However, his passions are far and wide reaching and he enjoys discussions ranging from how families divide their chores within the household to the feasibility of placing a colony on the moon! Professor Speicher regularly teaches introductory microeconomics and economics for managers. Currently working on research in the area of how workers and jobs are matched together - in particular how the spatial element plays a role in this possible matching or mismatching that occurs.
