Introduction to Computers

SIUE CMIS 108

Course Description: Computer concepts and applications will be explored to aid students in developing a basic facility with the computer. Students will exhibit proficiency with software applications and demonstrate knowledge of computer concepts and components. Computer technology provides consumers with access to a wealth of data and information, both locally and globally. In addition to the Internet, software will be used to display information, produce reports, assemble budgets, and create presentations.

Data Communications

Course Description: Concepts and terminology dealing with data communication and distributed systems with emphasis on business applications.

Web Application Design

Course Description: Analysis, design, and implementation of Internet web-site home pages using current tools of hypertext markup languages, integrated software packages, and specialized web creation software.

Java Programming

SIUE CMIS 495

Course Description: This course will utilize the Java programming language to emphasize achieving program clarity through the proven techniques of structured programming and object-oriented programming. This course will cover the classes and methods in the Java language to write class libraries and utilize extensive Java class libraries
