CTS Graduate Scholars

CTS offers a number of Graduate Transportation Scholar Assistantships. Research Assistants develop projects ranging from efficient utilization of public transportation to inventory/order fulfillment analysis. Research Assistants work 20 hours per week and are supported with a tuition waiver and monthly stipends. Both first time applicants and current graduate students at the University of Missouri-St Louis are eligible to apply.

To apply, a student should submit an application, which can be filled out online and printed. Adobe Acrobat required. The student should also submit  a resume, a copy of GMAT and TOEFL scores (where applicable), and a writing sample.

Esha Christie
Esha is pursuing her MBA at University of Missouri - St. Louis with an emphasis in Information Systems along with a Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management. She expects to graduate in May 2009. Esha got her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology in India.
In addition to being fluent in three spoken languages, she is also experienced programmer in languages like C, C++, VB, .Net and very efficient in working with different database systems like Oracle and MS SQL Server.
Esha has been a Research Assistant at CTS from Fall 2007. She is very interested in the fields of logistics and supply chain management. Upon graduation, she plans to work in the supply chain management industry where she can combine her IT skills and supply chain knowledge.

David Long
Currently, David is working on a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems. He has returned to school with 10 years work experience. He has prior transportation experience with Sunmark, Inc., a division of Nestle USA, Inc. and prior applications development with Energizer Battery Co. and ExpressScripts, Inc. As a research analyst in the Center for Business and Industrial Studies, he has studied the development of integrated court management systems and justice information systems for the 22nd Circuit Court of Missouri. David started working at the Center in August 2004

Michelle Quach (Undergraduate)
Michelle recently transferred in the spring of 2007 from Saint Louis University to University of Missouri-Saint Louis to obtain a bachelor of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in logistics and operations management, with anticipated graduation in August 2008. She is fluent in three languages: English and the Chinese dialects, Fucanese and Cantonese. Michelle is also a board member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals-St. Louis Roundtable (CSCMP) and a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. After completing her bachelor’s degree, Michelle plans to work in the supply-chain management industry while continuing her education in graduate school.

Mike Sciaroni
Mike is a candidate for MBA with expected graduation in May, 2007.  He has also earned a graduate certificate in Logistics & Supply Chain Management and a Bachelors Degree in International Business.  With a professional background in procurement, he has traveled extensively throughout China and speaks Chinese as a second language.  After graduation, Michael is planning to pursue a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management.  He is currently a board member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals-St. Louis Roundtable (CSCMP).  Research interests include International SCM, Network Rationalization, and Transportation Infrastructure.
