Welcome to the 40th annual Crucial Early Years® Institute
The 40th Annual Crucial Early Years® Institute is designed to meet the needs of teachers, child-care providers, administrators, social workers, students in teacher education, and parents of young children.
Dr. Thomas Moore is this year's keynote speaker. Dr. Moore is nationally recognized as an early childhood consultant, author, and children's recording artist. His keynote address is titled "Celebrating What We Learn from the Children We Teach."
This year's Institute will offer more than 100 concurrent workshops on all facets of early childhood education. A special 3.5 hour American Red Cross certification session will be offered this year. The session is limited to the first 30 participants to preregister for it and costs an additional $7.
Attention, Parents as Teachers Parent Educators
Parents as Teachers parent educators can now get six hours of professional development credit for recertification from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education beginning with their second year of service. The DESE approval has just been expanded to include second through fifth year parent educators. Those with six years of service and beyond have always been able to use the Crucial Early Years® Institute as approved professional development. Register now! It's a great opportunity to choose valuable sessions and hear noted keynote and featured speakers for your credit at a very reasonable price.

Session Descriptions
Sessions are grouped in three interest areas for your convenience:
- Infants and Toddlers -- pertain to children age birth through 2
- Three- and Four-Year-Olds -- pertain to children ages 3 and 4
- Special Topics -- specific, professional, or non-age-specific topics
