Callie Marie Rennison, Assistant Professor
Callie Rennison earned a Ph.D. and an M.A. in political
science from the University of Houston. In addition, she was awarded
an M.A. in sociology and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston.
Her areas of interest focus primarily on the nature, extent, and consequences of victimization, with an emphasis on research methodology, quantitative analysis, and measurement. She has a particular interest in examining violence against women and minority groups such as African Americans and Hispanics. Her work has appeared in journals including the Journal of Quantitative Criminology, Violence and Victims, and Violence Against Women.
At UMSL, Callie's teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses on statistics, research methods, victimology, and violence against women.
Prior to joining to faculty at the University of Missouri in St. Louis, she served as a Statistician in the Victimization Statistics Unit of the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Statistics in Washington, D.C. From 2004 to 2006, she was a Post-Doctorate Fellow with the National Consortium on Violence Research (NCOVR). Since 2004 she has served as the UMSL CCJ web mistress.
