Events:

· There are many fun club events each year, such as:

· The Heifer Project, a yearly event which takes place in October. This is a joint effort with several other campus organizations to raise money for Heifer International, a non-profit organization which combats hunger in the U.S. and abroad. More information on Heifer can be found at their website; a link is provided on the Related Links page. The Heifer Project culminates each year with a Halloween themed party and dance.

· Food for Thought, a monthly lunch-time seminar. Professors come in and speak about the research they are currently working on. Students can ask questions and learn about fields that they may be interested in working in. This is a great way to eat some free food, meet some professors, and learn about areas of research going on at UMSL.

· Environmental events, such as Stream Team, are a great way to get involved not only in the club, but the St. Louis community. Volunteers meet and clean up our wildlife areas, creating a better environment for us all.

· Recycling is a fun and environmentally friendly way to get involved. The Bio Club sponsors several recycling barrels throughout Benton Hall. Club volunteers take the recyclables to a center and help maintain the barrels.

· Many other events take place throughout the year and are planned depending on what is available. Seasonal events, such as pumpkin picking and Christmas parties, are planned so that members can socialize, have fun, and enjoy some good food. Smaller events, such as movie nights, are also spread throughout the year.
