(3) SKILL STATION
1.
Rotate each group of
students through such a station
on a regular basis
2.
Identify specific skills
to be introduced, developed, and applied
3.
Particular students
who display mastery of the skill in question remain at that station
--- and create a tutorial or presentation which explains steps leading
to skill introduction, attainment, and development.
4.
These tutorials
as well as teacher-made learning
activities are used by
those students needing skill development.
5.
The Special Education
teacher can work with students at the Skills Learning Station.
The inclusion of such a station affords the opportunity for
critical intervention, remediation, application, and support
of students in an inclusive setting.
6.
Clusters of curriculum-related
skills suitable for learning station treatment include those in items
(4) Math, (5), Language Arts, (6)Science and(7) Social Studies. |

(2) CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
AND SKILL MASTERY
1.
L=TBC requires within
the classroom rotations and learning stations.
2.
Rotations and Learning
Stations not only provide opportunities for authentic learning,
hands-on learning, safety-net reinforcement of learning, but also distributed matches
of resource to learning
need. Particular
students may **lack prior
knowledge and meaningful context
***have inadequate vocabulary skills, research skills, estimation skills, presentation skills,
etc. ***have poor
listening comprehension
***have the inability to create mental² pictures² from text Therefore,
a rotation devoted to Skill Development
can meet thesestudent needs. |
