1) EXPERT GROUPS: You and your partner will choose a narrow area of the Middle Ages to study. you may choose from the following list or pick your own (If you choose your own topic, please check with Mr. Bergner). Vikings The Norman Conquest Crusades The Magna Carta Celts The 100 Years War Anglo-Saxons The Holy Roman Empire Gothic Empires The Hapsburgs Charlemange and the Franks Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain Byzantine Empire The Capetians Islamic Empire The Crusades Kievan Russia The Inquisition Mongol Empire Code of Chivalry Feudal System 2) RESEARCH: Using the encyclopedia, newpapers, magazines and the internet, you will conduct an in depth research of your area of the Middle Ages. 3) PAPER REPORT:You and your partner will each write a 5 to 7 page paper explaining in great detail the information that you found about the Middle Ages. 4) MULTIMEDIA REPORT: You and your partner will construct a Hyperstudio project to instruct your Unified class about your research. (Several of these HyperStudio stacks are available for download...make sure you also visit the Resource Page). 5) VIRTUAL REALITY INTERVIEW: Finally, you and your partner will construct an interview with a person from the Middle Ages. You obvoiusly will write the complete interview. However, using pictures off the internet and Hyperstudio, we will create a real interview. (For example - if you studied the Vikings, you would interview Lief Erikson)
VIRTUAL REALITY SCORING GUIDE: You and the Students at Brentwood Middle School will collaborate and jointly create a Scoring Guide to be used by students and teachers to evaluate the quality of content and quality of communication of the finished Virtual Reality Projects. You can share your ideas by using the Web Wizard. This is part of Mr. Ambrose's UMSL Social Studies Methods Course.
